"I never understood why children such as yourself feel better when they have a nightlight to sleep. Why poor forth light on the monster's face before he kills you, I much rather be in the dark if I was being murdered so I wouldn't feel the need to watch the maroon life force drip forth of my body." My grandmother looks away, her glare in some other world as if she just stepped into some dreadful hell and left me behind to watch her burn. When she looked back at me she bore a smile, lighting up her face as if that dark creature that took hold of her never happened, "good night Skye!" she said tucking me in and pinching my cheeks.
I totally erased the whole chapter and wrote a new one and once I wrote this I knew I had to share it right away or I would explode. Hope you liked it!
